Summer is here, and if you're taking some well-deserved weekend time off or just trying to make the week more exciting, why not check out some of the fantastic local festivals happening across the Southeast and nearby states? Whether you're rolling through Arkansas, soaking up sun in Florida, or exploring the heart of Tennessee, these summer fun fests - ranging from arts and food celebrations to big-name music festivals - offer great ways to unwind, enjoy local culture, and maybe even discover some new favorite traditions.
And while these events are great for your off-time, if you're someone who thrives on the energy of live shows and big productions, you might also be interested in our Production & Event division. Production and Event associates support concerts, sporting events, and all kinds of live entertainment across the country - delivering gear, meeting new people, and experiencing a whole different side of the industry.
Here are some of our favorite festivals to add to your road trip itinerary this summer.
Where: Birmingham, AL (Sloss Furnances)
When: August 2025 (exact dates TBA)
An annual three-day gathering featuring heavy music - hardcore, punk, emo, metalcore - set in an iconic industrial backdrop. It draws fans from across the region and beyond.
Where: Prairie Grove, AR
When: Labor Day Weekend
Admission: Free (Parking: $5 per car)
Experience a charming throwback at the Prairie Grove Clothesline Fair at Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park, where handmade crafts abound and local children compete in lively square-dancing competition. It's a great way to enjoy a taste of Arkansas tradition before you hit the road again.
Where: Madison, GA
When: July 25-26, 2025
Bring the whole family to Madison for the Firefly Festival, a kid-friendly event featuring stilt walkers, music, bubbles, face painting, inflatables, crafts, and more. It's a perfect way to light up your (and your entire family's) weekend with smiles and laughter.
Where: Atlanta, GA (Grant Park)
When: August 23-24, 2025
Celebrating over two decades in the city, this art and music fest blends live regional music, art installations, food vendors, and a community 5K. A beloved Atlanta tradition perfect for families and local explorers.
Where: Charleston, SC
When: July 19, 2025
Don't miss this finger-lickin' good celebration of Caribbean food, music, and culture. Taste-test some of the best jerk recipes, watch the chicken wing eating contest and soak up the good vibes. Warning: You'll leave craving more!
Where: Whitwell, TN
When: July 31 - August 3, 2025
A rising regional favorite, Sound Haven brings together indie, folk, and Americana artists in a relaxed, rural setting. The three-day lineup spans local acts and national indie bands, known for it's intimate community vibe and well-curated performances.
Where: Clute, TX
When: July 24-26, 2025
Texas-sized fun takes on a quirky twist at this offbeat festival featuring mosquito-calling contests, carnival games, cornhole tournaments, and "skeeter"-themed food. Don't forget to look for Willie-Man-Chew, the giant mosquito mascot!
Where: Conroe, TX (Montgomery County Fairgrounds)
When: August 11-14, 2025
A multi-genre four-day Texas festival featuring nationally known and regional acts - perfect for fans of country, rock, pop, and more. A growing destination for summer fest-seekers.
Whether you're home for a weekend and looking for something fun to do or just passing through, these summer festivals are great ways to experience the culture, food, music, and fun that make the Southeast - and beyond - so special.
From small-town traditions to major music, events, there's something for everyone this time of year. And if you're on our OTL team, you're not just passing through - you're helping bring these unforgettable experiences to life. Thank you for all you do on and off the stage, and we hope you enjoy the ride this festival season!
