Accelerated Leadership Training: Participate in a structured 4-6 month training program blending classroom learning, on-the-job coaching, and hands-on field experience.
Career Advancement: Upon completion, step into a floating frontline leader role with the opportunity to grow into permanent leadership positions like Operations Manager or Service Center Director.
Competitive Pay: Earn $1,000/week during training with overtime available, and increase to $1,250/week in the floating leader role.
Ongoing Support: Receive regular mentorship, performance check-ins, and guidance from seasoned leaders and HR throughout your journey.

Develop the knowledge and skills needed to lead teams, manage operations, and deliver exceptional service.

Experience or Education:
A degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field - may substitute for experience.

Strong computer proficiency and time management.
Willingness to relocate within your region and work variable hours.
A natural leader who can coach, develop, and inspire diverse teams.
Professional demeanor and alignment with Averitt's culture and standards.
Must be 18 years of age
Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, business management, or related field (may substitute education for experience.)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Teams, email, company systems)
Willingness to relocate regionally upon completion of training

Averitt’s Leadership Development Program is designed to prepare associates for long-term leadership careers within the organization. The program provides hands-on experience, exposure to multiple areas of the business, and guided development to help participants build the skills needed to lead teams and drive results.
The program is ideal for individuals who are motivated, career-driven, and interested in growing into leadership roles at Averitt. Candidates often include recent graduates as well as professionals with early career experience who demonstrate leadership potential, strong communication skills, and a desire to learn the transportation and logistics industry.
Participants may gain experience across key areas of Averitt’s business, such as operations, customer service, sales, safety, and leadership support functions. The goal is to provide a well-rounded understanding of how each team contributes to Averitt’s success.
Trainees will complete a 4–6-month training curriculum. Each participant follows a structured plan focused on learning, practical experience, and leadership growth, with progression based on performance and readiness.
Yes. Leadership Development Program participants are full-time, salaried associates and receive Averitt’s comprehensive benefits package. This includes medical, dental, and vision coverage; paid time off and holidays; retirement savings options; and access to wellness resources.
Yes. Participants receive guidance from experienced leaders throughout the program. Mentorship and feedback play a key role in helping associates grow their leadership skills and prepare for future roles at Averitt.
Upon successful completion of the Leadership Development Program, participants may be placed into a fixed/permanent leadership position aligned with their strengths, performance, and business needs. Averitt is committed to promoting from within and creating clear career paths for high‑performing associates.
Travel and relocation expectations vary depending on the role and stage of the Leadership Development Program. While in training, participants are considered “floaters,” meaning they may work alongside different teams and leaders—and potentially at different locations—to gain hands-on experience and a well-rounded understanding of operations.
Once the program is successfully completed, graduates are placed into a permanent leadership position at a service center. Any travel or relocation expectations are discussed during the interview process so candidates know what to expect before accepting a position.
