Averitt Cares for Kids

Averitt Cares for Kids is a giving program that funds our non-profit charitable organization, Averitt Charities, through weekly contributions from associates.

The program is inspired by the giving spirit of Danny Thomas, the founder of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, who once said "I'd rather have a million people give me a dollar than one give me a million. That way you've got a million people involved." And it's that idea that drives more than 99% of our associates to give $1 per week in payroll deductions as members of Averitt Cares for Kids.

Since 1990, Averitt Cares for Kids contributions have been designated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. St. Jude is the leader in research, treatment and cure for catastrophic childhood disease, helping children and their families throughout the world. 

We’re proud to say St. Jude has named the Averitt Cares for Kids program "Workplace Giving Partner of the Year" in 1999, 2010, 2020 and 2024. Since 1990, we’ve donated more than $16 million to St. Jude. 

Our contribution of $1,400,001 to St. Jude in 2025 continued our annual commitment to support the good works of St. Jude.

Uniform Recycling

We are deeply committed to giving back. Several years ago, when looking for a way to ramp up our giving efforts, we partnered with Matthew 25: Ministries – a humanitarian aid and disaster relief organization that rescues and reuses products to help people all around the world.

Every shirt our associates donate to be recycled goes to them – where it’s de-branded and passed on to those who need it most. And while the immediate humanitarian aid is by far the most important aspect of the contribution, the impact is felt in many other ways as well.
