Lexington KY preventive maintenance associate Jeremiah Carter proved to be the best of the field in the recent Tennessee Technician Skills Competition in Nashville, as he won Grand Champion honors! With the victory, Jeremiah has qualified for the national event that will take place in September in Cleveland, Ohio.
On his way to first place, Jeremiah earned the highest score in three categories - engines, coolants and fasteners. The competition featured 12 total categories ranging from a written test to hands-on testing of transmissions, electrical systems, brakes and more.
Jeremiah has been with the Averitt team since 2014, and this was his second appearance in the skills event. Last year, he finished second overall.
The TTA event was open to Tennessee preventive maintenance associates who are employed by a TTA member, as well as those in surrounding states whose state is not holding a skills competition.
Congratulations, Jeremiah, and thank you for representing Averitt with excellence and professionalism!
