For Justin Proulx, driving with our On Tour Logistics (OTL) team has become more than a job behind the wheel. OTL offers a unique opportunity to support live entertainment and large-scale events while building a career rooted in teamwork, professionalism, and long-term growth.
Justin has been with our team for four years, beginning in a home-daily role before transitioning into OTL. Today, he supports concert tours and live entertainment across the country — work that requires flexibility, coordination, and a strong sense of responsibility.
OTL plays a critical role in keeping entertainment on the move. For Justin, it’s the people, structure, and shared purpose that make the experience stand out.
Discovering the OTL Difference
“The support has been such a cool experience,” he says. “Most of my time on OTL, I’ve been with the Ringling Bros. Circus with four of us running 25 trailers — these guys feel like my family.”
Like many drivers, Justin initially joined our team for steady work, competitive pay, and the ability to be home with his family. While working in a home-daily position, he learned more about OTL and quickly realized it offered something different from traditional freight.
OTL combines focused driving responsibilities with the opportunity to travel throughout the U.S. and Canada — all while working as part of a close-knit team supporting time-sensitive, high-visibility events. What he once thought might be a role for later in his career became a long-term goal much sooner.
Since joining OTL, Justin has experienced new parts of the industry, worked alongside dedicated professionals, and benefited from consistent support from leadership and fellow associates.

What It’s Really Like Driving with OTL
OTL work offers variety that many driving roles don’t.
Associates may run:
Justin says that the variety keeps the job interesting, while the structure of tours provides consistency once a run begins. Over time, associates get to know the same teams, routes, and expectations, which helps create a steady rhythm on the road.
Community, Support, and Long-Term Growth
One of the defining features of OTL is the sense of community that develops on long-term tours. Associates spend extended periods working with the same people, traveling together, and supporting shared goals. That collaboration includes not only fellow OTL associates, but also tour staff, technical directors, and production teams — all working under tight timelines that demand trust and professionalism.
That same structure also allows associates to think beyond just the miles ahead. OTL is designed for associates who want to build something long-term, with leadership support and the flexibility to plan for what’s next while staying fully committed to their work.
Driving with OTL isn’t viewed as a stopping point, but as a foundation — one that encourages responsibility, growth, and lasting careers.
“I can give 100% to work and still plan for the future,” Justin explains. “The freedom that comes with my position makes that possible.”
A Sustainable Career Choice
After working in several roles earlier in his career, Justin was looking for stability — a place he could build a future without constantly starting over. Through our OTL division, he’s found consistency, structure, and a team he can rely on.
As a veteran, he appreciates the structure and stability that came with military service and later looked for those same qualities as he began building a civilian career. That’s why he values the military-friendly environment, the core values that shape our culture, and the uniform policy that reflects the pride and integrity our associates bring to their work.
“Everything this company stands for is exactly what I was looking for,” he adds. “I always wanted to find a company home and not bounce around — and I’ve found that here.”
Advice for Truck Drivers Considering OTL
Justin encourages drivers interested in OTL to be patient and stay flexible. The transition can take time as teams learn how new associates operate and handle responsibility. OTL drivers represent our entire team on tours, so professionalism, organization, and the ability to perform well under pressure matter.
New associates typically start with a team that helps them learn how OTL operates, since it’s different from traditional freight. His advice is to be patient, stay flexible, and give yourself time to adjust. Once you find their rhythm, Justin says the opportunities and rewards become clear.
More Than a Job — It’s a Long-Term Fit
When asked to describe his experience, Justin uses three words: exciting, dependable, and ethical — a reflection of the commitment we strive to show our associates, our customers, and our culture every day.
OTL has provided opportunities he didn’t expect, support that has allowed him to pursue his education, and a team environment that feels steady, supportive, and rewarding.
“My experience here has been phenomenal,” Justin says. “If you’re a CDL truck driver and want to experience a great career, come work with us.”
While OTL offers a unique opportunity to support live entertainment and events, it’s just one of many paths available to our driving associates. Whether you’re is looking for home-daily work, regional runs, or something entirely different, there are multiple ways to build a long-term career at Averitt — all grounded in the same values that have shaped Justin’s experience.
