We are seeking a Licensed Customs Broker to join our in-house customs brokerage team for assisting with the management of customs entries, providing guidance to our team and customers, and ensuring full compliance.
Position Summary
We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and experienced Licensed Customs Broker to provide assistance and support for customs clearance activities. This role is ideal for someone with deep knowledge of U.S. customs regulations and hands-on experience in brokerage operations within a fast-paced transportation environment. You will serve as acompliance expert, handling customs entries, supporting internal teams, and ensuring our clients' freight moves efficiently across borders.
Ensure full compliance with U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP), PGA (Partner Government Agencies), and relevant trade laws.
This position is remote and open to candidates located within the continental United States.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation, submission, and tracking of customs entries for imported freight via truck, air, and ocean.
- Ensure full compliance with U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP), PGA (Partner Government Agencies), and relevant trade laws.
- Collaborate with dispatch, operations, and customers to gather accurate documentation and resolve entry issues.
- Classify goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), and determine proper duty rates and applicable programs (USMCA, Section 301/232, etc.).
- Assist in managing compliance audits and reporting requirements.
- Communicate with CBP and other regulatory agencies as needed on behalf of the company or its clients.
- Stay updated on trade regulation changes and advise management on potential operational impacts.
