What You'll Do:
As a Trailer Mechanic / Technician, you will perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of trailers and related systems, including:
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair trailer components including:
- Doors, brakes, tires, suspension systems
- ABS systems, electrical systems, and hydraulics
- Repair and replace trailer bodies including: sidewalls, rails, roofs, and floors
- Perform major liftgate repairs.
- DOT inspector certified
- Brake inspector certified
- Hourly pay for all time worked (not just wrench time)
- Competitive pay with performance reviews every 90 days
- 4-day work weeks available at select locations

Route & Job Details:

Trailers: Pre-loaded - hook and go

Freight: Flatbed hauling building material (dry wall, lumber, etc.)

Service Area: Deliver to both retail and non-retail locations in Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, and Tennessee

Freight Handling: No-touch freight; live unloads handled by the customer

Load Securement: Strapping required for all loads (straps provided)

Tarping: Only in inclement weather (extra pay included)

Stop Duration: Average 30 minutes per stop

City Driver, Lawrenceville, GADock and warehouse associates are the backbone of Averitt facilities. Using digital scanners and other top-notch, modern equipment, dock and warehouse associates manage the day-to-day loading/unloading of freight throughout our system in a safe and professional atmosphere. This position requires flexibility and a CDL-A license as you will occasionally fill in on local routes. Due to the familiarity of overall Averitt culture and processes, many CDL-A dock workers become top candidates for operational leadership positions.
This part time position requires a CDL-A license and prior dock, warehouse and forklift experience are preferred.

Route Details:
- Pick up pre-loaded trailers in Lebanon, TN, and deliver merchandise (not food) to Cracker Barrel stores in 24 states: AL, AR, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, LA, MD, MI, MO, MS, NC, NJ, OH, OK, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, WI, WV
- Average 1,960 miles per week
- Drivers typically run 2 routes per week
- Runs vary throughout the week
- Merchandise is separated by a bulkhead for easy unloading (freight isn't mixed together)
- Drivers will unload using a ramp and two-wheel freight into the customer's storeroom (most stops take 1+ hours)
Training & Support:
- New drivers will ride with a dedicated Averitt driver for the first week to learn the customer's processes and procedures. Paid at $1,000 for the first week only
- During slower months (January - July), if not needed on this account, you'll be reassigned to another dedicated account to maintain weekly work
