Paid Driver Training

Averitt trains the best drivers that there are I don't think another company offers anything like this at all we learn anything from a 180 degree back into 45 to 90s we do some pull throughs and stuff our pull throughs we have one that we can pull through about 63 foot but you get the concept of how the truck will turn how far it will turn how close you can get to the trailer they practice it all the finishing schools too and the same truck that you're going to be on the road with our coaches are really good they've got a lot of experience and I've been able to learn quite a bit from them like 9 years experience between three of them they'll help you and let you make mistakes and tell you where you're wrong and help you correct them the most interesting thing that I've learned was the 180 pull in and then back up and then spin the whole trailer around and then back into a dock we can probably get at least three moves in every 15 minutes it's no problem for us to get up 200 moves really it's just a confidence builder if they have a problem they're good at everything except one thing we can work a hundred percent on that thing if they need to you know we have people that's maybe how 15 or 20 years experience and they'll come back through they've been off driving for six months and if they show us that they're that much more experienced than everybody else we can make it harder on those people to begin with it's good to be able to help people to do that especially when they come back by maybe two or three months later and they say well they've used something other that we've helped them with it makes us feel as good as it does them too some companies just want to put you maybe with the trainer for a week and just throw you out there being with the trainer for six weeks I mean that's really good I'm very proud to be here at driving school and I think they've got a really good program you can really see the difference in the people from the time they come to the first of the week how much more confidence they have how much better they feel and when you can get people's confidence that they can do something like this it makes a whole lot of difference whenever you're out on the road
