Here at Averitt, we take pride in our drivers' safety and want to ensure that you have all the training you need to feel confident and comfortable out on the open road. Our training programs offer on-the-job training with an experienced Averitt driver trainer, where you’ll benefit from the knowledge of your own personal trainer and mentor.
All our training programs are paid training and you’ll enjoy all the benefits of being a full-time Averitt associate.
Short on experience? Only have 4 - 11 months of verifiable tractor- trailer experience in the past 3 years or 1 year of verifiable tractor- trailer experience in the past 5 years? This program will provide you with 1-3 weeks of paid training at $600 per week for regional drivers and $500-$600 weekly for dedicated/supply chain drivers. After successful completion of the course, regional drivers will earn a starting pay of 42-50 cpm, depending on the location.

The Student Driver Training Program is for former students who have graduated from one of our approved truck driving training schools in the previous 180 days OR have 1 up to 4 months of solo tractor trailer experience within the past one year.
This exciting opportunity provides on-the-job training with an experienced Averitt driver trainer where you will enjoy running the open road for a up to 5 weeks and you will benefit from the knowledge of your own personal trainer and mentor. During this training, Averitt will pay you $500-$600 per week, plus you'll enjoy all the benefits of being an Averitt associate.
Plus receive a $4,800 tuition assistance bonus payable after completing orientation at a rate of $150 / month for the first 12 months then $250/ month for months 13-24.

If the hazmat endorsement is required, you must apply for it within 30 days of completing training (Averitt will reimburse cost upon receipt).
All drivers going through our training programs will also attend our Finishing School during the last week of their training. This is an extensive backing and turning program to ensure you’re well prepared for the road. These programs are conducted at our service centers in Lexington KY, Cookeville TN, Greenville SC, Jackson TN, Little Rock AR, Decatur AL, Shreveport LA and Grenada MS. This unique training allows drivers to learn as a team, develop trust and, even more important, learn self-confidence.
