I'm Robbie Cantrell. I've worked here since two thousand nineteen. Well, I came to Averitt working on DOC, and my supervisor, Mike McLaughlin, he asked me if I wanted to drive. I said, sure. I wanna drive. I got my permit. They gave me a truck to go for a test in. I came to CDL since January of twenty one, I've been driving. I worked at Quad Graphics for twenty two years and they put shut the plant down. And Tommy Hayes that drives for Averitt, he told me they was going to start hiring up here at Averitt. So I put my application in, got on the dock and go to ground four. Then my supervisor, he asked me to drive, so I started driving. Going to the Doc To Driver program, it allowed me to get more pay and more job security, you know, and it gave me more freedom to driving a truck. Going to the doctor driver program, you know, it may be intimidating at first, but, know, I was intimidated at first because being out there and trapping a fifty three foot trailer, but it's not as intimidating as it seems. I work on a dock in the morning and load trucks till about nine or so. Then I go out wherever they need me to drive, I'll take this route or I'll go swap a trailer out, whatever they need me to do. You start early, but you get off early. I still like having a time of the day. That's what I like about that. I would encourage anybody. They'll work with you, they'll give you the truck to go test, and they give you, I think, a three week training, have a driver in there with you for three weeks, and they send you out. If you do, well, yes. If you pass, yeah. Yeah, I'm really glad I went to the driver program. It gives me the most freedom to do drive. I really do like driving. Working on Docs is good too, but I, you know, I really enjoy driving out there, know, seeing the different people out there and meeting with the different people, know, seeing different places. I'm really glad I went to Doc Driver program. Enjoy what I do and really have fun doing it, working with people I work with. It's a lot of fun.
